A super-sportsman who is very unsportsmanlike… Changeup, for Mutants and Masterminds!
Now available at Drive Thru RPG!
He’ll throw the heroes a curve ball… Changeup!
A Power Level 11 Rogue, Changeup is an athlete whose enhancements are definitely not approved by any professional sports league. Changeup is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.
Changeup’s file is designated “Blue” to identify the technology he employs in his criminal activities. Outfitted with cybernetics and hi-tech weapons that suit his chosen theme of baseball, he is ready to challenge any hero who fancies themselves a skilled athlete. Changeup’s ego won’t let him lose to anyone, even someone with super-powers, and he’ll hold a grudge against anyone who dares to show him up. Heroes who despise the misuse of technology will want to put a stop to Changeup’s crimes, and will also be very interested in tracking down the mysterious source of his strange technology.
Welcome to Rogues, Rivals & Renegades. Each entry in the series is designed as a villain, a potential ally with complications, or an outsider who might help the PCs one day and be at odds with them another. Each character has the potential to become a mainstay of your campaign!
Rogues, Rivals & Renegades are presented as files from a meta-human monitoring agency called METAs, with a loose frame story connecting them to Vigilance Press‘s own Beacon City setting. They are designed to drop into any setting with minimal effort, however, and the METAs commentary is written to give you a better picture of each character’s personality and threat level. Each issue gives you a background for the character, commentary from METAs files, a standee to print and play with, and Hero Lab files for key characters!
Authored by Aaron Sullivan with full color art by Alex Williamson, and layout by Ruben Byrd. Designed for the Mutants and Masterminds Third Edition roleplaying game.
The master manipulator, always in the shadows… Zarathustra! Now on @drivethrurpg !
Now available on Drive Thru RPG:
The master manipulator, always in the shadows… Zarathustra!
A Power Level 9 Rogue, Zarathustra is the perfect sociopath. Zarathustra is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.
Zarathustra’s file is designated “Orange” to identify his focus on skills and techniques bordering on the paranormal. More than anything else he employs, Zarathustra’s intelligence and complete lack of conscience make him a formidable adversary for a hero or team of heroes that catch his attention. He is bored of mundane challenges, only a truly brilliant foe will catch his interest, but he plays the long game and never reveals himself until he is sure of victory. The perfect Moriarty for your campaign’s Sherlock Holmes, he makes a very memorable mastermind indeed.

Road Hazard is ready to tear up the streets in your superhero campaign!
Now available from Drive Thru RPG!
He’s ready to tear up the streets… Road Hazard!
A Power Level 11 Rogue, Road Hazard is a highwayman with a need for speed! Road Hazard is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.
Road Hazard’s file is designated “Blue” to identify the super-normal technology that he uses in his crimes. That technology takes the form of a powerful vehicle he “liberated” from an advanced weapon development company. No ordinary car, the X-9 Assault Vehicle gives Road Hazard a deadly array of weapons and speed when he hits the streets. He’s constantly looking for races or other opportunities to test the limits of this supermachine, and will quickly identify heroes with super-cars of their own as rivals to be challenged. His criminal activities will earn the attention of any hero who wants to make their city, and particularly their streets, safer by putting him behind bars.

The Electric Chair was just the beginning… Breaker!
The electric chair was just the beginning… Breaker!
Now available on Drive Thru RPG!
A Power Level 12 Rogue, Breaker is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration. A prison escapee with nothing left to lose, he’s ready to use his mastery over electricity to stake his claim in the roughest part of town!
Breaker’s file is designated “Red” to indicate the innate mastery of electricity that makes him so formidable. Once thought of as the toughest man in his cell block, now he’s the most wanted man in Beacon City. Never willing to back down, and always ready to prove how tough he is, Breaker is very confrontational and very dangerous. He’s a man who has always used fear and intimidation to get what he wants, and now he’s nearly untouchable thanks to his newly-discovered ability to charge his body with massive pulses of electricity. The perfect villain for a hero who wants to keep the streets ‘clean’ of criminals, he’s also a challenge for any hero who relies on melee tactics to overcome their foes. With a mean streak a mile wide, Breaker also holds grudges with a passion, and will not hesitate to track down any hero who manages to defeat him in front of others.

The perfect warrior, at war with himself… Warchild is ready for battle!
The perfect warrior, at war with himself… Warchild!
A Power Level 11 Renegade, Warchild is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration. He is a Special Forces operative turned freelancer, and has enhanced his formidable skill set with minor metahuman abilities.
Warchild’s file is designated “Orange” to indicate the intense training that makes him so dangerous. He sells his skills as a mercenary, but often works outside the law to battle organized crime in his own way. Heroes may find themselves allied with him if they need military expertise, or at odds with him when his personal moral code drives him to break the law. Heroes who have spent time in the Special Forces may have met Warchild before he adopted his new identity, or may find themselves tasked by an old friend from their military days to hunt this “traitor” down only to discover something bigger is going on. They may also encounter him during an investigation into organized crime in their home city, discovering Warchild following a parallel line. As an ally, he is efficient and fierce. As a foe, he is intensely driven to fight for victory. In all conflicts, he fights like one born for battle.

Rogues, Rivals & Renegades: Over 30 Issues Strong!
Greetings, Vigilance Press Fans!
I’ve been away from the website for a bit (had a great time at Orca Con!), but we’ve managed to keep pace with our Rogues, Rivals & Renegades releases without missing a beat! Here’s a breakdown of everything we’ve released so far, divided into Series 01 (which will be included in the first Collection of issues titled: Rogues, Rivals & Renegades Collection One) and Series 02 (which is the current list of solo issues). To date we’ve released over 30 weekly issues of Rogues, Rivals & Renegades!
Collection One is juuuust about ready to go live, too! Collection One compiles the first 23 issues (24 entries) of Rogues, Rivals & Renegades into a volume over 100 pages long! It’s our biggest print on demand offering yet, and it’ll be available through Drive Thru RPG Soon. We’re currently waiting on the printer to approve our print files so we can get a test print of Collection One before we make it available for sale. When that goes live, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.
To celebrate more than six months of steady releases, I’m hyperlinking each of our solo issues below in a massive list! Check it out to see if you’ve missed anything, or for a preview of what’s in store if you’re waiting for Collection One! Click the “More” link to see the list… see you on the other side!
Can your city survive this SHOCKWAVE!?
Now on sale from Drive Thru RPG and RPG Now!
Can the city survive her attempts to save it?… Shockwave!
A Power Level 10 Rival, Shockwave is a powerhouse who often winds up causing as much collateral damage as the villains she’s trying to stop! Shockwave is an iconic figure in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.
Shockwave is a young would-be superhero whose powers make her a formiddable foe, indeed. She’s brash and ready to smash, and all-too-willing to tear up the streets in order to hit the bad guys as hard as she can. A perfect Rival for heroes who try to minimize such damage, she can be a real pain to reign in, or an ally if they need a heavy hitter and are willing to pay the insurance bills. With a few tweaks, she might even make a beautiful disaster of a romantic interest for one of your heroes! Built under the same guidelines for a Power Level 10 Player Character, she can also be used as a handy “Guest Star” for a player visiting your game who doesn’t have a character ready.

Fineous Frost arrives for Mutants and Masterminds 3E!
He spent decades on ice, and he has no plans to go back… Fineous Frost!
Available now from Drive Thru RPG and RPG Now!
A Power Level 10 Rogue, Fineous Frost is a man with a lifetime of criminal experience. Fineous Frost is an iconic character in the Beacon City universe, but can be dropped into any campaign with very little alteration.
Fineous Frost‘s file is designated “Gold” to denote that his powers are the result of external manipulation of some kind. Exactly what kind of chemical cocktail is responsible for his transformation remains a closely guarded secret, but his ability to create and manipulate areas of intense cold are a chilling experience for anyone who would stand in his way. To the world at large, Frost is a reformed ex-convict, setting up a business in the heroes’s home town. In secret, Frost is a more careful criminal, operating from behind the scenes, and he plays well against heroic detectives who are diligent enough to untangle his criminal web to discover the spider at the center. He would also certainly hold a grudge against heroes who carry the legacies of other heroes he faced in his earlier career, before he spent decades years in prison. Or, if one of your heroes is an immortal himself, Frost may be a “blast from the past” to represent the never-ending fight against crime!
