Kickstarter- Tianxia has been Submitted!
We have submitted our Kickstarter project to the folks at Kickstarter.com, and are awaiting their approval. During this process, I thought it might be nice to let you folks know what we have in store for you. So this link will take you to the current draft of the Kickstarter page. If you have any feedback, please feel free to leave it on the Kickstarter page using the feedback tool!
The Kickstarter is not live yet, so you can’t pledge now. As soon as the Kickstarter does go live, we’ll be sure to let everyone know!
Edit: I’ve just posted a podcast I recorded with the author, Jack Norris. I think this will answer a lot of questions about the project, and hopefully give you something to think about while we wait for Kickstarter’s approval process. 🙂 http://vigilancepress.podbean.com/2013/10/11/tianxia-kickstarter-draft-page-is-up-check-it-out/
We’re very excited to tell people about Tianxia: Blood, Silk & Jade. We hope you’ll join us for this journey, our very first Kickstarter campaign.
May your Kung Fu ever be strong!

All our games are full, but if you really want to play, stop by and see if anyone decides not to show. We kept all our entry prices at the bare minimum, so $4.00 of generic tickets are what you’ll need to get in. Hope to see you there!
Additionally, you can find author Jack Norris spending a great deal of time at the Green Ronin booth showing off the Dragon Age and M&M games. Check for the Dragon Age panels this weekend as well!
I’ll be buzzing around the con for the rest of the weekend, meeting fans and being a fan. I’m so excited, I can’t wait to get this party started!

Nero the Newshound makes his “First Appearance!”
Fans of our Beacon City Podcast adventures from last year will recognize Nero the Newshound as the talking dog from Beacon City who likes to sniff out a good story. He’s featured on Green Ronin’s website today as part of the “First Appearances” series of PDFs, free for download! You can find his First Appearance (along with Michael Schell’s “Ogre Bear”) at this link!
The First Appearance PDFs collect characters submitted by Mutants and Masterminds fans as part of the Hero’s Handbook 10th Anniversary Kickstarter from earlier this year. We’re happy to join Green Ronin in bringing you this first, fully-statted out appearance of Nero, by Vigilance Press mastermind Jack Norris!

Tianxia Cover Art- From Concept to Cover
While we’re about ready to get Tianxia: Blood, Silk, and Jade ready to head to layout, I thought this would be a good time to share with you the cover art! But I can’t just show a single picture, we should really show you a little more about how we got from concept to the final illustration. This article will cover that process, and show off some never-before-seen concept sketches from myself and Denise Jones. I’ll let you decide which ones are better (hint: Denise’s). Click the “More” tag to head to the article!
ROAR!! Kaiju Kultists Preview Gallery!
To celebrate the opening of giant monster mayhem movie Pacific Rim (go see it! It’s awesome!), we bring you our own cadre of gi-normous super-villains… the Kaiju Kultists! The manuscript (by Jack Norris) is still in final edits and playtesting, but we wanted to show you the artwork that has come in so far. Artists on this project include Denis Loubet (a veteran illustrator in the gaming industry, and a personal hero of mine!), Alex Williamson, and Denise Jones! Check it out by clicking the picture to the left, or this link here!
Vigilance Press will (sort of) be at Origins, and certainly at JAFAX!
Hey gang! I’ll be skulking around Origins this weekend, and JAFAX in Michigan next weekend! If you’re interested in trying to meet up in Columbus, leave a note here and I’ll see what I can do! (Or message me on Facebook) I hope to get some gaming in for the next few days, as well as find some time to catch up on writing. We shall see!
At JAFAX I plan to run however many games I can in the short space of time we have. Check the events schedule to find me! Hopefully I’ll see you there!
In the meantime, check out this new piece of artwork from Denise Jones for our upcoming project Tianxia: Blood, Silk, and Jade!
Green Ronin’s Donna Prior talks to Vigilance about the Freebooter program, and more!
Donna Prior, newly minted member of Green Ronin and front-runner of their new Freebooter program, joins us for an interview! We talk about the Freebooter program, a bit about girls and gaming, and generally how games are supposed to be fun. And Donna proves time and again that she has earned her gamer credentials! 🙂
If you’re interested in signing up for the Freebooter program, check out the forum linked here!
Monte Cook talks up Vigilance Press!
I was delighted to help out with Monte Cook’s blockbuster Kickstarter for Numenera last year, and now he’s thanking me (and other backers at the same level) with articles on his site! Here’s his coverage on Vigilance Press!Â
In related news, I can’t wait to see the Numenera core books, the artwork in the previews has been amazing!
…and speaking of artwork, expect to see some new stuff on our site in the next couple of days for upcoming projects! Stay tuned!
